Nina Pomeroy Photography Charity Fundraiser for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

“Local Photographer & Local Charity CEO - both survivors - Partner Up for Breast Cancer Awareness Month”

Photographer Nina Pomeroy will partner up with Lisa Norman - President/CEO of For the Love of Cups charity for a special fundraising effort during the month of October which is Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Pomeroy is a recent breast cancer survivor and initially met Lisa Norman, also a survivor, online in a Facebook breast cancer survivor group. Learning that they both lived in the East Bay they met for lunch and Pomeroy learned more about Norman’s charity. For The Love Of Cups is a non profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to saving lives. They provide critical funding for support, research and advanced screenings methods for breast cancer to ensure that everyone receives the benefits of early detection. With love as their driving force we seek to improve and extend the quality of life for all breast cancer survivors until there is a cure

In August of 2016, Pomeroy moved her photography studio of 15 years and her family to San Ramon from Wilton Connecticut. A couple of months later during a routine physical and mammogram, she was diagnosed with two forms of breast cancer. There were no symptoms, and no history of the disease. February she had surgery at John Muir in Walnut Creek and is now cancer free. Had it not been for early detection screening she would have never known in a million years she had cancer.

With October being breast cancer awareness month, these two have joined forces to help bring awareness of the potentially life saving benefits of early detection. 10% of all Headshot sessions booked in October with Pomeroy will be donated to Norman’s charity. In addition, Pomeroy is offered a special for two persons in honor of Pomeroy’s dear friend that helped her during her cancer ordeal.
