DANVILLE, CA — During its regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday, the Danville Town Council unanimously approved a development plan that allows construction of 37 townhouses on a nearly vacant 1.88-acre site located on West El Pintado. The approval came after a three-hour discussion on the matter.

The development site consists of two parcels of land located at 359 and 375 West El Pintado. Currently, a single-family home is the only building at the location. According to Town documents, the property owner is GMMR LLC and the developer on the project is Talmont Homes.

An Environmental Impact Report was required for the project, and with Tuesday's vote the Town council certified the document. Council also approved amending the land use for one of the parcels from single-family/low-density housing (maximum of three residences per acre) to mixed use residential (maximum of 20.1 residences per acre). Additionally, the vote included the removal of seven Town-protected trees from the site.
