Pedestrian Struck By Vehicle In Danville

The crash remains under investigation, although drugs and/or alcohol are not suspected as factors.

DANVILLE, CA — A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in Danville Friday morning, and a roadway closed as police investigated the major-injury collision.

The crash was reported around 9:11 a.m. at Camino Tassajara and Alta Vista Way/Wood Ranch Road. According to the preliminary investigation, the crash happened as the driver was making a left turn from Alta Vista Way onto eastbound Camino Tassajara and the pedestrian was crossing in the northbound crosswalk of Wood Ranch Road and Camino Tassajara, Danville Police Chief Allan Shields said.

The pedestrian, who is a Danville resident, was transported by San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District ambulance to John Muir Medical Center with major injuries, according to Shields.

The driver remained at the scene and was cooperative with police, Shields said.

Investigators have no indication that drugs or alcohol were factors in the collision, Shields said.

Eastbound Camino Tassajara near the crash scene remained closed until around noon Friday.
