Photo of the Week: Bonnie Kohleriter Demonstrates Electromagnetic Force

For 22 years this Vista Grande science teacher, retiring at the end of this school year, has used hands-on activities to teach her students.

Science teacher Bonnie Kohleriter is retiring from Vista Grande Elementary School  after a 22-year career.

Kohleriter says she loves teaching elementary school science and strongly believes that it shapes future scientists.

"The elementary science teacher lays the groundwork for science that continues into middle and high school," says Kohleriter. "Children are very curious about the world, so the elementary teacher can grab them early and build upon that interest."
