Fire Danger: Power Outage Likely In San Ramon, Danville

The advisory comes as officials prepare for gusty winds, low humidity and severe fire conditions​.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — An advisory from Danville and San Ramon officials warns that PG&E will likely turn off power for thousands of ratepayers as severe fire weather hits the Tri-Valley.

PG&E issued advisories to some San Ramon and Danville residents and businesses warning of a possible Public Safety Power Shutoff that could begin as earlier as 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday, and may last for several days.

The shutoff is part of a large Public Safety Power Shut Off initiated by PG&E this week for many Northern California counties.

Restoration of power is expected to begin at 12:00 p.m. Thursday but may take several days to complete.

Residents and businesses are urged to take necessary preparedness steps to be without power for up to several days. The National Weather Service issued a red flag warning that will be in effect from 5 a.m. Wednesday to 5 p.m. Thursday for the East and North Bay hills and valleys, and from 5 p.m. Wednesday to noon Thursday for the Santa Cruz mountains, according to the National Weather Service.
