Racial Harassment Continues at Danville's Monte Vista High
The principal has sent parents two letters about racial harassment of African American students, ABC7 News reports.
DANVILLE, CA ā For the second time this month, Monte Vista High School said African American students are experiencing racial harassment, ABC7 News reported Thursday. The San Ramon Valley Unified District, which oversees the campus, told the station that it will not tolerate such behavior and there will be consequences, though the district wouldn't elaborate on what those consequences would be.
At Monte Vista High, just 14 of the school's 2,448 students are African American, according to state enrollment statistics.
School officials first sent home a letter on Dec. 6 saying that they were frustrated by reports of racial harassment and a second letter was sent Wednesday after additional incidents were reported throughout the week, district spokesperson Christopher George told ABC7.
