Robbery Sparks Reminder About Danville's 'Exchange Zone'
"Individuals have used the Exchange Zone for buying and selling goods, or for conducting child custody exchanges," the Danville PD said.

DANVILLE, CA — If you are buying or selling items on the Internet, Danville police are advising residents to use the Town's "Exchange Zone" to stay safe. The message comes after a resident was recently robbed in a transaction. In the unfortunate incident, a seller came to a Danville resident's home and took off with the buyer's money but didn't leave the merchandise behind.
Police are investigating the case but point out it's a good reminder that the Town does have an Exchange Zone provided by the Danville PD at the Town of Danville offices, 510 La Gonda Way. The designated spaces are mere feet away from the police department and are covered by video cameras, police said.
"Individuals have used the Exchange Zone for buying and selling goods, or for conducting child custody exchanges," the Danville PD said. "It provides both parties with a modicum of safety and security and, if the worst should occur, the incident is on tape for police to reference."
