Rotary Club Of Alamo Announces Officers And Directors

Beth Randall and Steven Polcyn were named co-presidents.

Beth Randall and Steven Polcyn have been elected co-presidents of the Rotary Club of Alamo for the 2021 - 2022 Rotary Year, effective July 1. They succeed Joan Grimes who served as the 2020 - 2021 Club President.

Beth joined The Rotary Club of Alamo with her husband, Bill Randall, in 2005 after they both retired from teaching at Stone Valley Middle School. She has served as Rotary Advisor for Monte Vista Interact Club and as the Rotary Club of Alamo’s Youth Services Director for the past 15 years. She also served as Club president in 2016 -2017.

Steve joined the Rotary Club of Alamo in 1988 and served as Club president in 1992 – 1993 and again in 2010 – 2011. He also chairs the Club’s International Service committee. He served as the chair of Rotary District 5160 Foundation grants reviews panel from 2013 to 2018 and from 2018 to present as a member of the Foundation grants review panel. He is also a member of the District’s International Services committee.

The Club also announced officers for 2021 – 2022 in addition to Beth and Steve: Jack Thompson, treasurer; Karen McPherson, secretary; Joan Grimes, immediate past president, and Peter Waldron, 2022 – 2023 president-elect. Directors include Steve Larmore and Al Makely, community service; Carolyn Thiessen, club service; Greg Schuyler, foundation; Dana Wellington, membership and retention; Brad Gai and Bill Randall, at-large directors.

The Rotary Club of Alamo was founded on May 7, 1971. Since its founding 50-years ago, the Rotary Club of Alamo has been supporting numerous local and international projects. The Club currently has 42 members. The Club is now meeting on the second and fourth Wednesdays at 12:15 p.m. at Forli’s Restaurant in Alamo. On the first and third Wednesdays the Club is meeting from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at Maguey’s Restaurant in Alamo, just down to the right from Forli (if you are looking towards Forli.).
