San Ramon Valley shines at SoCal track meet
Annual Arcadia Invitational features athletes from 27 states and Canada
The San Ramon Valley High track team took part in the 43rd Annual Arcadia Invitational over the weekend. More than 3,800 athletes from 27 states and Canada converged on Arcadia for an exciting two days of competition.
San Ramon Valley track coach Tim Stevens said his team posted outstanding performances.
"We set personal bests in just about every race we ran, as well as setting one school record in the boys' 4 x 400," he said. "I cannot begin to describe how excited everyone was after their performances this past weekend."

For the distance runners, Friday night was the big relay night.
"The boys ran to two second place finishes in the 4 x 800 and the 4 x 1-mile races with both times ranked in the top 10 in the nation," Stevens said. "The girls ran to a season best in the 4 x 1-mile race in 22:19.85."

Relay results
- In the boys 4 x 400 seeded relay, the Wolves won the boys 4 x 400 seeded relay in 3:19.85 — a new school record. Video Link
- The boys team of Parker Deuel, Simon Graves, Trevor Holmgren and Kevin Griffith took second in the 4 x 800 Invitational Relay with a time of 7:52.60. Video Link
- David Manuel, Dan Davis, Chris Brooks and Garrett Storms took fourth in the Invitational Sprint Medley Relay with a time of 1:34.13.
- In the men's 4 x 1-mile Invitational Relay, the team of Kevin Griffith, Parker Deuel, Simon Graves and Sean Colaco took second place with a time of 17:39.01. Video Link
- The girls 4 x 1-mile seeded team of Montana Baumann, Kelly Nordine, Liz Hebel and Lauren Connelly posted a season-best time of 22:19.85 to finish 14th. Video Link
- The boys 4 x 100 meter relay seeded team of David Manuel, Dan Davis, Chris Brooks and Garrett Storms finished 16th with a time of 43.19 Video Link
- Jack Williams ran the 110-meter hurdles in 16.0 seconds.
- Sarah Griffith posted a time of 57.79 seconds in the women's 400 meters.
- Sean Colaco took 32nd place with a time of 4:32.54 in the boys 1-mile seeded race.
- Parker Deuel took third in the Rising Stars Mile (reserved for top freshmen and sophomores) with a time of 4:25.42;
- Kevin Griffith finished the 800 in 1:54. Video Link
