School of Imagination Raises More Than $90,000 at First-Ever All-Star Benefit
School of Imagination All-Star Benefit with Oakland A's, Stephen Vogt, Mitch Sigman, Charlene Sigman, Mark Ibanez, Josh Reddick
The School of Imagination raised more than $90,000 at its first-ever All-Star Benefit on World Autism Day, Saturday, April 2. All proceeds will benefit the school, which provides support and services to more than 300 children, many with special needs and disabilities such as autism.
The All-Star Benefit was a Texas hold ‘em-style poker tournament featuring celebrity poker players, including Oakland A’s All-Star catcher Stephen Vogt, who has been an avid School of Imagination supporter since 2014; his A’s teammates Josh Reddick, Billy Butler, Billy Burns, Eric Sogard, Josh Phegley and Liam Hendriks; A’s hitting coach Darren Bush; KTVU’s Mark Ibanez and Congressman Eric Swalwell.
“Words can’t express what a night like this means to our organization,” said School of Imagination Co-Founder Charlene Sigman. “At times, children with autism and special needs don’t have the same opportunities as other children. Raising these kinds of funds in one special night just does so much for our kids.”

Funds were raised through the generous support of School of Imagination corporate partners including: Oakland A's Community Fund, Wat Oral Surgery & Implant Center, Insperity, Ovations, Chevron and Comcast SportsNet; the sale of individual- and full-table player tickets; and an active silent and live auction featuring rare items, such as the opportunity to play catch with Vogt on the field prior to an A’s game, travel on the road with the A’s, and an autograph pair of green and gold Curry 2 basketball shoes signed by NBA Champion and MVP Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors.
