Portion of Diablo Road Closed Through Thursday Commute Due to Downed Tree, Power Lines
PG&E crews are working to repair the lines and poles so the tree can be removed from the roadway.
DANVILLE, CA — A section of Diablo Road between Calle Arroyo and Avenida Nueva remains closed after a large eucalyptus tree took down power lines when it fell at about 1 a.m. Wednesday, town officials said. According to a town spokesperson, about 200 customers were without power and PG&E crews are working to repair the lines and poles. As of 5:30 a.m. yesterday, power had been restored to all but five customers.
Officials said the road is expected to reopen sometime Thursday morning. Drivers should anticipate delays through the commute and avoid the area.
