SRV Thunderbirds Elite Cheer Win Second Place
San Ramon Valley Thunderbirds Elite Competition Cheer competed in the JAMZ Nationals in Las Vegas, NV
The San Ramon Valley Thunderbirds' Cheerleaders competed for the second year in a row at the JAMZ Cheer and Dance Nationals held in the exciting city of Las Vegas, Nevada. The Jamz Cheer and Dance Nationals is the LARGEST Youth National Cheer Championship in the U.S. with more than 650 squads competing. The SRV T-Birds Elite Cheer Squad competed in the Division 15 Level 2 Show Cheer category, earning zero deductions; and Division 15 Pom earning a Second Place title.
Before heading to Las Vegas for Jamz Youth Nationals, our SRV Thunderbirds' Cheer Squads competed in three regional competitions for both POM and Show Cheer. The SRV Elite team had brought home multiple awards during regionals, competing at competitions in Stockton, Sacramento and Davis. Prior to each competition, these girls worked tirelessly in perfecting their tumbling, stunting, jumping and dance techniques.
Our cheer teams do not only compete in competitions, but also participate in sideline cheers and half time shows for the SRV Thunderbirds' Football Teams from September through December. This year each of the game day cheer squads in the East Bay Football League were invited to participate to show case sponsored by Alhambra High School Cheer in Martinez. All five squads from Mighty Mites to Varsity performed their half time routine along with a friendly “Cheer Jump” Competition. The San Ramon Valley Thunderbird's dominated the jump competition on all levels for form, skill and height, bringing home medals in each category. The football season concluded with the Varsity squad playing in the Championship game played at College Park High School in Pleasant Hill, also referred to as the “Turkey Bowl.”
