SRVEF Run For Education To Feature New Costume Contest, Races For All Ages & Abilities

DANVILLE, CA — Registration is open for the 43rd annual San Ramon Valley Education Foundation Run for Education. Each year, around 5,000 people participate and help the SRVEF fund things like elementary school maker spaces, teacher grants, science kits, musical instruments, art supplies, science projects, technology, school libraries, and more.

This year's race will take place on Sunday, Oct. 11 and will feature a number of different run options:

• Mini Run: Open to ages 2-6
• Friendship Run: Open to athletes with special needs
• 1.5-Mile Run/Walk
• 5K
• 10K
• Virtual run - support the race even if you can’t make it race day

After the race, more than 50 exhibitors will offer a mix of interactive activities, free samples and giveaways, and information on local businesses and programs. Kids’ activities will include games, face painting, crafts, and more. There will also be a fire truck, patrol car, and a player for the Oakland Ballers signing autographs.

The recognition ceremony at Iron Horse Middle School will also feature awards for the fastest times in each running group.

For the first time, the Run for Education will also feature a School & Group Costume Contest for groups of four or more people registered for the Run. Awards will be given for Best School Spirit and Best Community Group.
