SRVUSD 2nd Best District In Contra Costa, 9th In Bay Area: Niche

DANVILLE, CA — San Ramon Valley Unified School District was named the second best school district in Contra Costa County, according to new rankings from Niche.

Niche’s 2024 Best Schools and Districts rankings include data on 94,058 public schools, 30,809 private schools and 12,192 school districts.

This year’s rankings include 7,375 newly ranked public schools, including 312 public high schools in the Bay Area.

SRVUSD received an overall grade of A+, based on various quantitative data and input from students, alumni, and parents. The district received the following report card:

• Academics: A+
• Teachers: A
• Clubs & Activities: B+
• Sports: A-
• Resources & Facilities: B
• Diversity: B+
• College Prep: A+
• Administration: B
• Food: C

The district was also ranked the 2nd best school district in Contra Costa County, the 9th best in the Bay Area, the 27th in California, 179th in the United States, and 81st in California for district with the best teachers. See here for full rankings.

Monte Vista High School also received a grade of A+, and was ranked the fourth best public high school in Contra Costa County. San Ramon Valley High School received an A, and was rated the 12th best high school in Contra Costa County. See this map for full district rankings.

The Tri-Valley was well-represented in the Bay Area’s best districts, and SRVUSD came in second only to Pleasanton Unified School District. The top 25 school districts in the Bay Area and the letter grades assigned by Niche include:

Niche also ranked 94,058 public schools and 30,809 private schools. The platform said its rankings were created to provide families with valuable information — both quantitative and qualitative — on schools in their area or in a neighborhood they’re not familiar with yet.
The Top 25 Public High Schools In The Bay Area list was dominated by the Peninsula, Santa Clara County and the East Bay, although one school in the North Bay broke through.
The rankings differ from others that rely almost exclusively on test scores and academic performance in that it also includes input from students, alumni and parents, as well as quantitative data from sources such as the U.S. Department of Education to evaluate teachers, resources and facilities.
