SRVUSD Among Top 25 School Districts In California: Niche

DANVILLE, CA — San Ramon Valley Unified is the 2nd best school district in Contra Costa County (just behind Acalanes Union High School District in Lafayette), the 9th best school district in the Bay Area, the 24th best school district in California, and the 164th best district in the United States, according to school ranking site Niche.

The district received an overall Niche grade of A+, and also received an A+ in the categories of “Academics,” “Teachers,” and “College Prep.” It fared less well in areas like “Resources & Facilities” (B), and “Food” (B-.)

“We are extremely proud of our Niche ranking, within the county, Bay Area and being #24 in the entire state,” district spokesperson Ilana Samuels told Patch in an email. “We want to extend a special appreciation for our remarkable staff who are truly the ones who make this possible. A few years ago we developed new district goals - called our Strategic Directions - and these are connected to and integral to our goal of #SuccessReimagined. We continue to improve everything we do, by reimagining success on a foundation of academic excellence so all students will thrive.”

Samuels also said that the district has been in communication with Niche since the end of February to ensure accuracy in the rankings. Niche produces its rankings through a number of data sources, including the US Department of Education, student and parent surveys, Common Core data, and more.

Nearby, Pleasanton Unified received an overall grade of A+ and was ranked 6th in the Bay Area, 17th in California, and 107th in the United States. Dublin Unified received an overall grade of A+ and was ranked 11th in the Bay Area, 28th in California, and 211th in the United States.

Palo Alto Unified School District was ranked number #1 in the Bay Area and in California, and 9th in the United States. Adlai E. Stevenson High School District in Lincolnshire, Illinois was ranked the top school district in the country.
