Stolen License Plates Draw Police To Clock Tower Parking Lot
An investigation revealed the driver, who was at first a suspect, was actually a victim.

DANVILLE, CA — An Automated License Plate Reader alerted police in Danville to a car with stolen license plates this morning, town officials said. Officers tracked down the car, which was parked in the popular public parking lot known as the Clock Town lot.
"The driver was able to provide proof of ownership and it was determined that an unknown subject had stolen the owner's plates and replaced them with the stolen plate that alerted the ALPR," officials said.
The stolen plates were impounded and the driver’s license plates were entered in the system as stolen. No other information is available.
