Suspect Arrested for Hitting, Blocking People on Iron Horse Trail

Park District officials said the seemingly random attacks happened Wednesday afternoon.

ALAMO, CA: A man suspected of hitting and blocking people on a popular East Bay walking train has been arrested, East Bay Regional Park District officials said.

According to a statement released by East Bay Regional Park District, several callers reported a man riding his bicycle on the Iron Horse Trail in the areas near Danville and Alamo randomly hitting and blocking people at about 1:50 p.m. Wednesday.

The suspect, whose name was not released, was arrested a short time later by Contra Costa sheriff's deputies near Ridgewood Road in Alamo. Police say there were three confirmed victims. He was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on suspicion of false imprisonment, misdemeanor battery and assault upon pedestrians.
