Teen Bands Sought For Tri-Valley Music Showcase

A Brighter Day Charity, based in Lafayette, is hosting the free event in January in nearby San Ramon.

SAN RAMON, CA –Lafayette-based A Brighter Day Charity, an organization devoted to providing stress and depression resources to young adults, is seeking teen bands to perform in an upcoming showcase in San Ramon.

The Teen Rock Band Showcase is planned for Saturday, Jan. 26 at 7 p.m. at the San Ramon Community Center, and admission is free.

The music groups will perform two to four songs with local music teachers as judges. All participants will receive recognition/thank you awards, with the winning band of the evening receive an award, as well.

"This will be a fun evening," organizers said. "Bands will be judged in two ways: first on their music; second on the amount of teenage friends they bring to the event."

Food also will be available. Already listed as sponsors, according to organizers, are: City of San Ramon; City of Danville; Primo’s Pizzeria & Pub; Danville Chocolates; and School of Rock.
