Town of Danville Presents Annual Juried Art Exhibition
This year's juried exhibition coincides with the 100th Anniversary of the National Parks Service.
DANVILLE, CA — Come to the Village Theatre Art Gallery this August and enjoy the beauty, fierceness, mystery and grandeur of the wide open spaces as the Town of Danville presents A Walk in the Park. The 6th annual juried exhibition opens August 26, 2016.
Original artwork in a variety of mediums will be on view, showcasing different artists’ creative interpretations of this year’s theme, A Walk in the Park. This year’s juried exhibition coincides with the 100th Anniversary of the National Parks Service. Happy Birthday to our National Parks! As a gift to the community the Village Theatre Art Gallery will be exhibiting images and sculptures made from and inspired by parks and objects found in parks.
About the Juror: Heather Marx has over 20 years of experience in the fine art industry including private, public, and corporate art development, acquisition, and curatorial projects. She founded and co-owned Heather Marx Gallery/Marx & Zavattero, a leading contemporary art gallery based in San Francisco for 12 years. In 2014, Marx launched Heather Marx Art Advisory which is a comprehensive art consultant agency that services private and public collections nationwide, produces independent curatorial projects, and provides artist and arts related consultation.

An Opening Reception for the new exhibition is scheduled for Friday, August 26, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Complimentary refreshments will be served. The exhibit runs through October 15, 2016. Artwork in the exhibition will be for sale.
The Village Theatre and Art Gallery is open to visitors Wednesday through Friday 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and Monday and Tuesday by appointment only. The Art Gallery is closed on Sundays. Admission is free.
