Town Spent Over $5 Million on Capital Improvement Projects During 2009-2010 Fiscal Year

In a report, the town breaks down money spent on capital improvement projects including work on roadways, buildings, parks and trails.

You may have noticed how smooth the roads are and how nice parks and buildings around town are, but do you know how much it costs to maintain them?

At the town council meeting Tuesday night Development Services Director and City Engineer, Steve Lake, presented a report updating the town council on how much was spent on capital improvement projects last year.

For the fiscal year 2009-2010, the town spent $5, 315, 869 on capital improvement projects. That number is down from $7,789, 239 spent during the last fiscal year.

Those improvements include:

  • $3,089,437 for roadways including $168,400 for LED streetlights on Camino Tassajara.
  • $1,816, 511 for buildings and facilities including $1,350,649 for the Village Theatre lobby remodel.
  • $409, 921 for parks and trails including $91,828 for an Iron Horse Trail crosswalk warning system.
