Track and Field: SRV's Deuel Impresses at Junior Olympic Track Championships
The 16-year-old set two Northern California records at the meet.

San Ramon Valley High junior Parker Deuel, 16, competed in the U.S. National Junior Olympic Track Championships held this past week in Sacramento, earning All-American honors in three events.

Deuel placed 2nd in the 2000m steeple chase, covering the five laps over barriers and water pits in 6:14.23, setting a new Northern California record.
He set another Northern California record in the 1500m, placing 4th in a time of 4:04.01. Deuel also led his 4 x 800 relay team to a 5th place finish with a time of 8:30.18.

Deuel competes with The Heat, a Tri-Valley Junior Olympic track team. The Heat won 10 medals in distance events at the National Championships, easily the most by any team in the country.
Deuel is the most decorated member of The Heat, having earned All-American honors ten times in the past six years.
