Tri-Valley Cops Go Big During Special Olympics Torch Run: PHOTOS
The attached photo gallery shows the various law enforcement agencies carrying the Olympic torch through the Tri-Valley.
TRI-VALLEY, CA — Law enforcement personnel from across the Tri-Valley turned out Monday, and again on Tuesday morning, to raise thousands of dollars for Special Olympics athletes. It was all part of the annual Northern California Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run.
Pleasanton, Dublin, San Ramon, Livermore and Danville police departments—along with local CHP offices, sheriff's departments and other county law enforcement agencies—each carried the Olympic torch as part of the Tri-Valley leg of the run.
The Torch Run is continuing on, as various other NorCal police departments carry the flame until it reaches it final destination—the 2019 Special Olympics Northern California Summer Games in Davis that start June 21 and wrap up June 23.

Approximately 770 athletes, along with 285 coaches, are competing in the 2019 Games, which are the culminating competition for the spring sports season. Athletes from all over Northern California will compete in bocce, swimming, tennis, or track and field.
