Once abatement has been completed, demolition of the existing structure will begin.

From The Town of Danville: A major project aimed at increasing parking in downtown Danville is set to launch on Monday, August 27, 2018. The Village Theatre Parking Lot Project will encompass the existing parking area at the Village Theatre & Art Gallery, 233 Front Street, as well as the nearby lot at 279 Front Street to increase the available parking from 70 spaces to 200.

The project kicks off August 27, 2018 with fencing that will go around the 279 Front Street property and hazardous materials abatement of the empty building. Once abatement has been completed, demolition of the existing structure will begin.

Overall, the $9.2 million project includes $2.4 million for the creation of the parking lot, landscaping, and a prefabricated pedestrian footbridge giving access to the Front Street Park. The project is expected to be completed in early 2019.
