Volunteer For Danville's Holiday Events, Spread Cheer

The Town of Danville is seeking volunteers for its Elf Workshop, Santa's Mailbox program and Holiday Hangout for tweens.

DANVILLE, CA — Wondering how you can give back to your community this holiday season? The Town of Danville is still seeking volunteers for holiday programs in the coming days. Community service hours are available for many events.

  • Holiday Hangout, Dec. 12, 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., Danville Community Center & Library: An adult volunteer is needed for food preparation and registration, and a volunteer at least 14 years old is needed to lead games and activities. Holiday Hangout is an event for tweens ages 8 to 12.
  • Senior Holiday Luncheon, Dec. 13, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Danville Senior Center: A volunteer at least 16 years old is needed to help with set-up, clean-up, serving and light kitchen duties. Volunteers younger than 16 may do so with a parent.
  • Elf Workshop, Dec. 13, 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Danville Community Center & Library: Several volunteer opportunities are available for adults and youth at least 13 years old. Help is needed with leading games, face-painting, arts and crafts, food preparation, registration and more. This year's theme is Alpine Wonderland.
  • Santa's Mailbox, Dec. 16 or Dec. 17, 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Danville Community Center & Library: Volunteers at least 14 years old are sought to help Santa answer his mail. Scripts and supplies will be provided.
