Walnut Creek Man Suspected of Masturbating Near Woman in Alamo Safeway Arrested

ALAMO, CA — A 22-year-old man suspected of masturbating near a woman who was shopping inside the Safeway at the Alamo Plaza Shopping Center has been arrested, police officials said.

Detectives arrested Nicholas Daigle, 22, of Walnut Creek after the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office shared photos and video of the man with the public. Officials say they received tips identifying Daigle as the man in the photos.

Daigle was arrested at his home Wednesday and is currently being held at the Martinez Detention Facility in lieu of $5,000 bail. He faces several charges including battery, indecent exposure, sexual battery and engaging in lewd conduct.

On Aug, 22, at about 9 p.m., the suspect followed a woman through the store and eventually masturbated next to her, officials said. The woman questioned the man and he allegedly fled.
