Woman, Child Drown In Danville Pool

DANVILLE, CA - A woman and child were found dead Saturday afternoon in a Danville pool. Their identities have not yet been released, the Contra Costa Sheriff’s Department said.

At 2:56 p.m. Saturday, CCSD deputies were called to a home at East Ridge Court in the Blackhawk gated community, where they found a woman in a pool not breathing, according to a department report.

Deputies administered aid to the woman and learned that a child, who was also in the pool, was en route to the San Ramon Regional Medical Center. The woman and child were both pronounced dead at the hospital, CCSD said.

Investigators have not yet released the relationship between the woman and child. The sheriff’s department also said that the deaths do not appear suspicious, and there are no signs of foul play.
