Health leaders urge residents, especially older and immunocompromised people, to take precautions as statewide cases and severe neurological infections rise well above recent averages.

3. COURT WATCH: Yolo Judge Questions Competency in Felony Vandalism Case (davisvanguard.org) — A Yolo County judge is questioning a defendant's competency in a felony vandalism case tied to rock-throwing at cars near an Orangetheory Fitness in Davis and damage to UC Davis buildings and vehicles. The accused, confused about the proceedings and legal representation, remains in custody with bond set while the court orders further evaluation of his ability to stand trial.

4. Fatal Crash at I-80, SR 113 Connector near UC Davis (rwbpress.com) — Two people were killed Sunday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash on the I-80 east to Highway 113 south connector just south of Davis, near UC Davis and Putah Creek.
