Between Sacramento and Davis, nearly 250,000 bats take flight each night beneath the Yolo Causeway (cbsnews.com) — Just outside Davis, nearly 250,000 bats emerge each evening from beneath the Yolo Causeway, drawing visitors for sunset viewing and education. The Yolo Basin Foundation's Bat Caravan tours, about 15 minutes from town, run through September for a $17 fee and offer guided viewing, Q&A sessions, and a close look at rehabilitated bats while stressing safety and ecological benefits.
