2 Injured In Carmel Valley Apartment Fire

The blaze was at a complex on Torrey Bluff Drive, officials said.

SAN DIEGO, CA – Two people were seriously injured late Tuesday afternoon in a Carmel Valley apartment fire, authorities reported.

The blaze in the 12600 block of Torrey Bluff Drive erupted about 4:30 p.m., according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.

It took firefighters roughly 20 minutes to get the flames under control, SDFRD spokesman Alec Phillipp said.

Medics took the victims -- one of whom had suffered burn injuries, the other smoke inhalation -- to UCSD Medical Center.

The cause of the fire, which damaged a second-floor residential unit, was under investigation.
