Attorney Stuart M. Hurwitz Announces Ride Above Fundraiser

Attorney Stuart M. Hurwitz is helping to raise awareness of and funds for Ride Above Disability Therapeutic Riding Center by announcing its dinner and fundraiser. The event, co-sponsored by Fair Trade Décor, is scheduled for Saturday, September 10, from 5:30-9 p.m. at Stratford Court Café, located at 1307 Stratford Court, Del Mar, CA. Nugget, Ride Above’s miniature donkey, will be a special guest.

“Ride Above utilizes therapeutic riding to achieve goals that enhance physical, emotional, social, cognitive, behavioral and educational skills for people with special needs,” said Hurwitz, who volunteers every Thursday at Ride Above. “It is a highly altruistic organization that needs support, and I strongly encourage the community to attend the dinner and fundraiser to help Ride Above help those with special needs.”

Ride Above not only focuses on riding skills but also the development of a relationship between horse and rider. It uses a team approach to create a fun, safe, individual riding experience that provides an environment that fosters growth in strength, coordination, balance, speech, body awareness, education, independence, and confidence. All lessons are conducted by experienced instructors who build lessons based on the rider’s goals and individual needs.

“I see, firsthand, every time I’m there how kids with disabilities benefit from riding and just being around horses. I invite you to support Ride Above’s mission by joining us for the dinner and fundraiser, have some cowboy chow, and learn how horses are impacting the lives of those with special needs,” said Hurwitz. “All money raised at the dinner will go to help cover the costs of lesson horses. Any donations are greatly appreciated.”

Dress is Western or casual, and dinner is $30 a plate (Nugget selfie included). Wine will also be available for purchase, and ice cream will be served afterward at Fair Trade Décor.
