Beer Fest Brings International Brewers to Del Mar

The San Diego International Beer Festival is at the San Diego County Fair this weekend on June 20—22.

This Friday-Sunday, the Del Mar Area at the San Diego County Fair will be filled not only with the smell of hops, but the spirit of friendly competition as well. More than 150 breweries from around the world will compete in the annual San Diego International Beer Festival.

Fair-goers will have a chance to taste these beers and find out the winners. There will also be tons of breakout session throughout the weekend on a variety of brewing-related topics, from “How to Homebrew” to “Cupcakes and Beer.”

$55 gets you fair admission, a souvenir tasting cup and unlimited samples at the Beer Fest; $90 gets you the Brewer’s Lounge VIP experience, which adds tons of food to the mix, as well as a special lounge area overlooking the festival.

Where: Del Mar Arena at the Del Mar Fairgrounds

When: Friday, noon-4 p.m., 5-9 p.m.; Saturday, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., 4-8 p.m.; Saturday, 1-5 p.m.

Price: $55 for general admission, $90 for Brewer’s Lounge VIP experience. Tickets can be purchased online.
