All Lanes Open After Big Rig Jackknifes on I-5 in Del Mar, Closing Freeway [UPDATED]
The incident was reported at 3:40 a.m. Friday near Via De La Valle.

DEL MAR, CA: All lanes of southbound Interstate 5 near Del Mar Fairgrounds reopened at 9:15 a.m. Friday after a several-hour closure.
A tractor-trailer jackknifed on the rain-slicked freeway earlier Friday, prompting authorities to temporarily shut down all the southbound lanes into San Diego.
The big rig came to a rest blocking several southbound lanes near Via De La Valle around 3:40 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. It was not immediately clear whether anyone was injured.

The southbound freeway was subsequently closed and vehicles were diverted off at Vis De La Valle, authorities said. Traffic backed up into Cardiff before two lanes and the carpool lane reopened shortly after 6 a.m.
