It’s the last day of August so grab your appetites and sunglasses. Come help and celebrate National Eat Outside Day! Here are a few places in Del Mar-Carmel Valley you can take in the fresh air and enjoy a bite to eat.

Inside the San Diego Marriot Del Mar is an eclectic and modern restaurant Arterra. Dine outside on a lounge chair under an umbrella, grab a cabana and have a cocktail or wait until night falls and sit by the fireside.

If you love good food and want to bring your dog, Stratford Court Cafe is a dog-friendly restaurant with outdoor seating. Stratford Court Cafe is surrounded by a garden and serves breakfast, sandwiches, salads, pastries and coffee. It’s minutes away from the beach and boutique shops.

• Open: Monday through Friday 7 a.m. - 3 p.m., Weekends 7 a.m - 4 p.m.

Enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert at Americana Restaurant. Garlic is used heavily in dishes and owner Randy Gruber says, “this is not a date-friendly restaurant.” Fresh herbs and garlic are used in delicious dishes such as French fries with a New York steak with an Argentinean chimichurri sauce. Americana brings international flavors to the center of Del Mar.

Urban Plates in Del Mar Heights is an order at the counter type restaurant. Watch your food made in the open kitchen. Food and produce is fresh and is from local farmers. Dine at the front near a fire pit or back on the patio. There is plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy a meal that won’t break your wallet.
