Davanti Enoteca Chosen as Winner of Chicken Cook-Off
Davanti Enoteca's signature chicken dish, Pollo "Sole Mio," was the judges and peoples' choice winner of last weekend's Chicken Cook-Off.

This past Saturday, five neighboring restaurants in the Del Mar Highlands Town Center competed in the first annual Chicken Cook-Off to see whose signature chicken dish would be victorious.
Competing restaurants included Mia Francesca’s, Davanti Enoteca, Rimel’s, Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza and Burlap. A panel of judges from North County Times, San Diego Magazine, U-T San Diego and chef and author Amy Finley chose a winner from the restaurant’s signature chicken dishes.
Davanti Enoteca, the host and inspiration of the event, was chosen as the judge’s winning dish as well as the peoples’ choice winner for its Pollo ‘Sole Mio,’ a grilled half chicken with chili pepper paste.

According to Dana Harris, Davanti Enoteca owner and wife of Chef Scott Harris, the cook-off was a success and something they hope to continue next year.
“I enjoyed the fact that we had such a great turn out and everyone was so receptive to the event and to trying all of the dishes,” said Harris. “There was a DJ and it was a really lively and fun event. We would love to get all the restaurants in the area to join in and make it another great event next year.”
