Del Mar Opens its Gates for a Second Time with Inaugural Bing Crosby Season This November 7 - 30

After a thrilling summer of fast racing and huge events, the legendary seaside track will open again for its inaugural fall Bing Crosby Season, Nov. 7 to Nov. 30.

Old Hollywood style meets classic Southern California cool this November at Del Mar with four weeks of elite Thoroughbred racing, fresh events and musical performances to keep the good times rolling.

The added season pays tribute to the glamour and excitement of 1930s when Hollywood icon Bing Crosby founded the track with some of his celebrity pals.

The Bing Crosby Season will run a total of 15 racing days – primarily Thursday through Sunday – with an earlier daily post time of 12 p.m. on weekends and 12:30 p.m. on weekdays.

Gates open 90 minutes before the first post. Admission on Opening Day is $6 at all gates, or $8 for reserved seats.

The season kicks off in grand style on Friday, Nov., 7 featuring a “Vintage Hollywood Fashion Contest,” where fans can compete for more than $3,000 in prizes, with awards being given for Best Dressed Couple, Best Celebrity Look-alike and Most Glamorous.

Sign up between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. in Plaza de Mexico -- inside the Stretch Run admission gates. All entrants will receive two free admission passes to the Bing Crosby Racing Season valid through Nov. 30.

The Bing Crosby Season will combine thrilling Thoroughbred racing and fresh events at the Seaside Track.

Reggae Fest with Iration returns to the Seaside Stage on Saturday, Nov. 15, along with a special College Day Tailgate Party, where students can present their college I.D.s for free admission and special games and events throughout the day.

Another season event highlight is happening on Thanksgiving Day –before families sit down for their annual turkey dinner, they can head to the track for a special Thanksgiving Day Del Mar Mile Family Fun Run on Thursday, Nov. 27.

Then, Del Mar closes out the fall season with a free concert by CAKE and a mustache filled Movember event on Saturday, Nov. 29.
