FAIRBANKS RANCH, CA – A fire of unknown origin damaged a home in an upscale North County neighborhood Thursday.

No one was in the two-story house in the 16000 block of Via Lago Azul in Fairbanks Ranch when the blaze erupted shortly before noon, according to the Rancho Santa Fe Fire Protection District.

Firefighters were able to confine the flames to one side of the roughly 15,000-square-foot residence and had them fully under control within about 90 minutes, district spokeswoman Julie Taber said.
