Giddyap for Summer Fun with Del Mar Races App

Yes. There is an app for that. The Del Mar Thoroughbred Club has a mobile app that allows users to purchase race tickets and concert tickets, wager and instantly watch race replays from their mobile devices.

The Del Mar Thoroughbred Club released the app last year. Some 20,000 users downloaded the app with more than 90,000 videos watched during the 37-day meet last year.

New features this year include the ability to purchase entry tickets directly from their mobile phones and scan barcodes to enter the racetracks. It is as easy as scanning an airline ticket on your iPhone at the airport or scanning a barcode on your phone to purchase a tall skinny caffe mocha at Starbucks.

“We were impressed at how adaptive and eager our Del Mar race patrons were in using a mobile app,” said Walker McBride, director of sponsorship and digital media with the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club, in a statement.

The app powered by Parallel 6’s mobile platform, Captive Reach, really helps patrons enjoy the races from the comfort of their seats and avoid long ticket lines.
