Golf With the Flying Leathernecks at Del Mar Country Club
The Flying Leatherneck Historical Foundation will hold its Annual Mike Philbin Memorial Golf Tournament at the Del Mar Country Club on Sept. 23.
Want to golf with two Medal of Honor recipients? Attend the Flying Leatherneck Historical Foundation’s 3rd Annual Mike Philbin Memorial Golf Tournament at the Del Mar Country Club on Sept. 23. The tournament raises funds to restore aircrafts and fund education programs.
The golf tournament was named in memory of Michael Patrick Philbin, of San Diego. He was a key member of the Flying Leatherneck Historical Foundation's board of directors.
The foundation said Philbin was born into a Marine Corps family. He grew up living in Perris Island, Camp LeJuene, El Toro and San Diego. Philbin attended San Diego State and joined the Marines in 1968.
