Hats Off to the Winner of the Annual Opening Day Hat Contest at Del Mar
Chris Banner of Valley Center won the top prize for his hat "And Away They Go."
Dozens of women and a handful of men entered the hat contest at the Del Mar Racetrack on Opening Day, Wednesday.
Winners from left to right:
- 2nd Place, Funniest Most Outrageous: Belinda Berry of Walnut Creek.
- 2nd Place, Funniest Most Outrageous: Katy Helen Stockinger of San Diego.
- 2nd Place, Best Fascinator: Maren Severtson of La Mesa.
- Grand Prize: Chris Banner of Valley Center.
- 2nd Place, Best Racing Theme: Meg Davis of Carlsbad.
- 1st Place, Best Flowers: Amber Thorne of Costa Mesa.
- 2nd Place, Best Flowers: Lori Shelton of San Diego.
- 2nd Place, Most Glamorous: Louisa Voisine of Las Vegas, NV.
- 1st Place, Most Glamorous: Kayla Carnevale of San Diego.
