Interior Design Boutique, MMP Home, Opening in Del Mar
Interior designer Molly Proul will open MMP Home, a unique interior design showroom, this month.

For many who are trying to redecorate their home, the process can involve daunting trips to warehouse-style shops and endless nights of imagining how a particular paint color may look based on a 2-inch by 2-inch sample. Del Mar-based interior designer Molly Proul is looking to change all of that. The 15-year interior design veteran is set to open MMP Home, a boutique interior design showroom, in the heart of Del Mar this month.
Though only 500 square feet, the showroom at 1228 Camino Del Mar is a destination for those who are looking to revamp their home décor. And is a place where Proul hopes visitors will not only find products they enjoy, but will also get inspired with other ideas.
“It’s not about my personal style, it’s about our customers’ style and being able to bring out what they’re thinking,” Proul said. “We want to do it in a way that fits within their budget and their time span, and really fulfills their needs.”
Customers who visit the showroom will find it set up to showcase all that MMP has to offer. The mock-kitchen area will give customers a variety of options for drawers and counter tops, while the mock-living space features furniture designed personally by Proul and her team, and manufactured in San Diego.
“What we’re trying to do that’s different is that we want everything to be incorporated into the space,” Proul said. “We want it to be an inspiration where you can touch and feel.”
In addition to getting ideas for large-scale projects such as kitchen, bathroom, bedroom or living room remodels, customers will be able to purchase unique gifts or small items, such as candles, pillows or fabrics.
Proul, who has years of experience in commercial and residential interior design, has assembled a team of professionals. In addition to showroom consultations, the staff of MMP Home will also be available to visit customer homes to offer design and remodel consultations.
“I think we’re at the right time,” Proul said. “There isn’t anything else like this in Del Mar, we have a huge passion for this, and we’ve put the right people in the right spots.”
As MMP Home continues to grow, Proul hopes it will serve as a resource for many residents throughout San Diego. The store will offer classes and workshops on various design topics, such as revamping a room on a budget, working with patterns, or selecting the right colors for a room.
MMP Home will be open 7 days a week. Follow them on Facebook for more information.
