Local High Schools Gearing Up: PLAYOFF TIME

As High School baseball season nears closure the battle increases. Mac Bingham infamous Falcon Running Back spoke to SDPI: ".. It [takes} a lot of time, gotta start seeing some pitches again". He and the rest of the Falcon team are heading out from a 20-5 record, 8-1 in the CIFsds.org Avacado West League. Near by school La Costa Canyon -- home of the Mavericks, intense rivals with Torrey Pines -- is 18-5 overall, 9-0 in league. Canyon Crest Academy only a few blocks from TP, is 18-8, 5-4 in league.

The GRIND, it NEVER Ends

The CIF San Diego Section playoff tournament starts mid May, all San Diego County teams have been thrown into brackets. Ty McGuire, starting Falcon short-stop says "We've been doing a lot stuff on and off the field" as they prepare for the tournament ahead. Most teams hold 2-4 hour practices after school, adding onto the stress as a student-athelete. National College decision day is, tomorrow May 1st and most of these athletes are going off to great schools. We hope the best for all athletes!!
