New SDUHSD Superintendent Confirmed Robert Haley Accepts Position

The Super of schools at San Dieguito Union High School District is moving and taking a business executive job with the Santa Clara District

Former Superintendent Eric Dill Accepts Executive Position in Santa Clara

Eric Dill, former superintendent of schools for SDUHSD was respected and was over-saw many unfortunate situations during his 2 years as superintendent with the district, including two sadden suicides both at Torrey Pines HS, as well as a shooting threat to Torrey Pines, where the school was closed for the day. He was previously on board, where he held his seat for 15 years. The move to Santa Clara will allow Dill to work with students in a broader range of “ages, abilities and needs,” a press release from SDUHSD stated. Dill will be working with a wide range of students, Santa Clara Unified teaches over 21,000 students in its district over a spread of 27 schools and an adult education facility.

Robert Haley, former US Marine Reservist for 25 years, is appointed and approved by the SDUHSD Board Of Trustees. Haley comes from Rohnert Park CA. During his time their the district was recognized by the College Board and the Ed-Data Consortium for curriculum improvements. Haley brings new leadership and special education instruction experience to the district. Haley also serves on the State of California Fiscal Crisis & Management Assistance Team Board of Directors. SDUHSD believes his knowledge of "School Business" will benefit the district in a "long term commitment" of service.

Interim Superintendent Larry Perond

Interim Superintendent Larry Perond will be returning to retirement as he completed his mission helping with the transition in the district since July. What a great district, what a wonderful place to work. You should be so proud of your kids and your staff", Perond said as he exits his position.
