Continue to Be, the Patch Winner ~ The Patch has 900+online websites, the DelMar-Carmel Valley Patch is but one. Through transitions, the Patch has continued to be free, a free news service to the consumer to 23 communities, States throughout the United States.
I write about the Patch today because I am in business, and people have asked how do they sign up for the Patch, and I am forever saying that I saw it on the Patch, that it was in my "E" mailbox; not like a newspaper that might not get delivered. Also, I am appreciative as a business woman being able to write a blog about business, or the community, the Patch extends itself to the resources of townships and their people. When there are emergencies, or accidents the Patch sends out notifications letting us know, this too makes for a local news feel in a 21st computerized era ~ irony. As I mention this to you, my hope is perhaps you will mention this resource to one other person, and the Patch will grow, and commerce will grow for our communities.
Resources, the Patch list activities of those cities they are in; you will find activities, Summertime vacations spots. The Patch is a resource ~ as I seek other cities, I hope others come to the DelMar-Carmel Valley Patch for the year round offerings here. If you are a business, I am sure you are aware that your business can be listed on the Patch, free ~ gratis. If you are holding an event, business, non-profit - it can be listed on the Patch ~ gratis, no fee to list. The Patch is tailored to the community, and as I said in the beginning we are the ~ Winner in the growth of this online news service ~ Patch.
Now I will give you a little ~ Patch ~ history. Patch created 2007: Tim Armstrong founder, comes from Google, realizes small towns are the bedrock of information for online news. Armstrong goes to AOL in 2009, is the CEO with the Patch. Profitability difficulties from the beginning occurred. In 2013 Hale Global an Investment Company bought majority of the Patch; since the acquisition Hale Global has shown the Patch its first profit. The Patch online news service has profited ~ hooray. So I am emotionally vested in this, I have seen the Patch ups and downs, grow since the beginning. Congratulations Hale Global for seeing to it that this online news service profited from your 13 years experience. I believe in this social media, this online news service is our future ~ so Hip Hip Hooray, let's see what happens next.
Congratulations Patch ~ Congratulations Hale Global ~ and Congratulations those that made it Through those rounds of Employee Cuts ~ and Congratulations to us, the Readers
