Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Coaster Train
The victim died at the scene in Del Mar, authorities said.
DEL MAR, CA – A passenger train struck and killed a pedestrian in Del Mar Friday afternoon.
The Coaster train hit the 62-year-old man while traveling to the north at about 50 mph in the area of Eighth Street and Stratford Court shortly before 1:30 p.m., according to San Diego County sheriff's officials.
The victim, whose name was not immediately available, died at the scene, Deputy Brian Abraham said.
