Student At Torrey Pines HS Has Pertussis: Principal Rob Coppo Emailed Parents
In a message to families, Principal Rob Coppo reported the situation:
School admin have confirmed with the school site health tech that a student at the school has the disease.
Administration is urging female pregnant students and staff contact their OB/GYN Dr immediatley and notify them of the issue. Pertussis should't risk pregnant individuals, but antibiotics are used as a prevention measure.

Pertussis is A highly contagious respiratory tract infection that is easily preventable by vaccine. Students and staff at TPHS should regularly wash their hands, and limit the touching of the face.
This report comes nearly two weeks after an Ex- TP student was arrested for gun threats. Torrey Pines High School, located at 3710 Del Mar Heights Road, serves 2,500 students.
