Restaurants Celebrate Dad with Manly Specials on Father's Day

With Father's Day just around the corner, it's time to start thinking about some great ways to celebrate Dad! Here are a few San Diego food offerings that show Dad just how special he really is.

The Man Munch Lunch at Betty's Pie Whole Saloon

On June 15, Betty's Pie Whole Saloon, a pie wrangling western saloon in Encinitas, is serving up a hearty Man Munch menu that will leave dad satisfied all day long. Served from 11AM to 4PM, the menu will feature a selection of western inspired savory pies, followed by sweet mini-pies and other manly treats. Favorites include Mancakes, a corn pancake with jalapeño and Mexican cheese; Grand Daddy’s Chicken Pie, tender chicken breast, peas, carrots and zucchini baked in a herbed butter pastry; Chili Fry Pie, a chicken chipotle chili pie served with thick potato fries and a cheddar biscuit; and a Whiskey Pecan Pie

The menu will also feature a section "For Them Grass Eater Folks" which includes vegetarian pie options, and a "For the Lil’ Cowboys and Cowgirls" kids menu. For more information and full menu detail, visit www.bettyspiewhole.com.

A Meat Lover's Meal

Chef Matt Gordon is giving dad's two tasty reasons to celebrate this Father's Day. On June 15, each of Chef Gordon's three restaurants: Sea & Smoke in Del Mar, Urban Solace in North Park and Solace and the Moonlight Lounge in Encinitas will be offering an all day long Prime Rib special, prepared with a classic Bernaise sauce and served with horseradish mashed potatoes. Dad's will also receive a special treat of house-made chocolate covered bacon, made with Hill Farms natural bacon from Pendleton, Oregon that is crisped and then dipped in Guittard chocolate from San Francisco. The restaurant will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. For more information, visit www.seaandsmoke.com.
