The San Diego native electronic rock group Pinback makes its way to the Del Mar racetrack on Friday, August 9.
The name of the group is inspired by a character from the 1974 John Carpenter film Dark Star, a fact that reflects the group’s emphasis on experimental audio samples employed in songs such as Chaos Engine, Penelope and Syracuse. Their latest album, Information Retrieved, was released in 2012.
Pinback promises to bring a vibrant, progressive rock sound to the races. Their show is free with racetrack admission.
