Satisfy Sugar Cravings at the Del Mar Chocolate Bar

Chocolate lovers can indulge their sweet tooth seven days a week at the now open Del Mar Chocolate Bar inside the Del Mar Plaza. The store recently relocated from a small store front on Camino Del Mar to a larger retail space in the Plaza to accommodate its growing product line and an espresso bar. 

Owner Laura Reyes owned a French restaurant for five years before opening the first Chocolate Bar in Carlsbad in 2008. Reyes's confectionery was well-received by the community, so she decided to open a second location in Del Mar.

The store offers a wide variety of chocolates including turtles, fudge, peanut butter cups, toffee, novelty candies, cake by the slice, bottled wine, coffee and even pet treats. Some chocolate is handmade fresh in the store each morning and others are imported from chocolatiers across the country. Reyes also partners with vendors in the area to source ingredients and products.

Reyes said she plans to have an official grand opening ceremony for the store later this month.
