Four TCS students recently organized and held a bake sale in support of Second Chance Dog Rescue. Below they explain what they did and their motivation!
We are fourth grade students at The Children’s School who were inspired by our own dogs to help other dogs in need. We came across a non-kill shelter called Second Chance Dog Rescue and wanted to help. We spread the news that there were dogs up for adoption and so far we have convinced one person that Second Chance Dog Rescue is the place for them! We put up pictures on campus of dogs that we liked and many people stopped to see them. We had to change pictures constantly because the dogs often got adopted. Some of the dogs we picked were Fame, Skyler, Fresno and Derick. We also organized a bake sale to raise money for the dogs’ surgeries at Second Chance. We made many items like brownies and muffins and even had cookies that looked like dog droppings! They were a big hit. So far we have raised almost $100 and are raising more. Some of us will be making personal contributions as well. To make a contribution or to adopt please visit www.secondchancedogrescue.org.
