Why walk for City of Hope:

Celebrating 100 years of scientific and medical milestones, City of Hope's pioneering research has brought the world closer to cures for many life-threatening diseases, from cancer to diabetes. Driven by compassion, every discovery City of Hope makes and every new treatment they develop gives patients around the world the chance to live longer, better and more fully.

As an independent medical and research institution, City of Hope can break through the barriers that traditionally stand between scientists and physicians, accelerating the application of laboratory findings to more effective treatments. They work with urgency because time matters. Patients with cancer need better options today, not next week or next year.

City of Hope is proud of their numerous institutional distinctions from being one of the few National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer centers in the country to their leadership role in setting standards for cancer care nationwide as they remain true to their overriding mission to heal the whole person. That means nurturing the emotional, spiritual, social, as well as physical well-being of those in their care.

City of Hope's patient-centered philosophy guides everything they do. It is why their researchers are relentless in their advance of science, why their physicians bring promising therapies to patients as quickly as possible and why their students immerse themselves in ways to redefine medicine.

City of Hope is ranked one of "America's Best Hospitals" in cancer by U.S.News & World Report and is consistently awarded by Charity Navigator, an organization that evaluates nonprofits, its highest rating, putting the institution in the top 5 percent of rated charities. The four-star rating reflects City of Hope's sound fiscal management and financial growth and stability.

For many people, City of Hope is where hope begins
